Dan James is making inroads as one of the best new innovative horseman in Australia. I did a shoot for Dan on location at the cattle station he was working at a few hundred km’s out of Derby along side the Fitzroy River.
Dan trains, lives and breathes horses, and it is amazing to photograph him at work. He builds relationships of trust with his horses which takes amazing patience, many hours, and a certain character.
Dan is pioneering new tricks, and says he wants to push the boundaries to try things that haven't been done yet. One of these is where he jumps one horse over another which apparently most horses will not do.
Dan recently performed at The Spirit of the Horse in Perth, Equirama in Margaret River and hopes to soon make it in the U.S. |
