After returning to Australia from spending 6 months photographing in South East Asia, I started to see my own country and people from an outside perspective. I started to notice things about myself and others that I had never seen before that differentiated us as Australian. Accent, slang, posture, the frankness and direct nature of how we approach a complete stranger as if they were a friend.
I wanted to try and capture a snap of shot of what it meant to be Australian and the attributes that set us apart. I decided to venture up north into the bush and small country towns searching for iconic scenes and quirky characters that depict Australians in the Outback. |
